Keep On Truckin' (song) ' Keep On Truckin' ' is a 1973 hit song recorded by Eddie Kendricks for Motown Records ' Tamla label. Known for his falsetto singing style, Kendricks co-founded the Motown singing group The Temptations. In 1971, with the Tempts apparently at the peak of their powers and producing one classic single after another, Williams’ health and unreliability eventually led him to leave on medical advice, after a doctor discovered a spot on his liver. Eddie Kendricks (born Edward James Kendrick, Decem October 5, 1992) was an American singer - songwriter. He turned to alcohol as a way of dealing with the group’s relentless touring and recording schedule, and later in the 1960s also had serious financial problems. What was hidden from public view was that Williams suffered from sickle-cell anaemia. The song went on to be covered by everyone from Bobby Womack to Peter Tosh and Mick Jagger, on a duet single. Try, for example, his lead on a lesser-heard but vital Tempts cut from 1965, “Don’t Look Back,” which was the B-side of “My Baby” but charted Top 20 R&B in its own right. His starring roles were often on album tracks or B-sides, but they’re all fine performances, and he was also crucial to the group’s visuals, in choreographing many of their slick dance moves. Born on December 17, 1939, in Union Springs, Alabama, Eddie Kendricks was one of the five children of Johnny and Lee Bell Kendrick. Once Ruffin arrived to replace “Al” Bryant in the line-up in 1964, Williams would often play third fiddle, so to speak, behind him and Kendricks, who shared the (fully deserved) acclaim for many of the classics of the line-up’s vintage years. Moreover, the area is seen as a good escape route from the expense and crowding of California. The economy has been driven in part by high-tech companies relocating from California, particularly in semiconductor, software and defense fields, and these companies recently have been doing fairly well. The low ranking is mainly the result of summer heat, air quality, crime, increasing costs, and a relatively weak collection of arts and culture amenities for a city this size. It is little wonder that wealthy “snowbirds” from other parts of the country have used Phoenix as a winter hangout for years. Winters, on the other hand, are quite pleasant- daytime highs in the 60’s and 70’s, only a few evenings below freezing, and no snow.
